Solid-Phase Extraction of Trace Metal Ions Using Low-Melting Extractants

A sensitive, selective, and rapid method for the determination of metal ions after extraction of their complexes into low-melting extractants (either in molten form or by coprecipitation) is reviewed. The progress in solid-phase extraction of metal ions using low-melting extractants in the last 25 years is surveyed. Reagents are described in alphabetical order and all relevant data together with references are cited. The various parameters studied are given in tabular form.
