Abstract: | A generalized Nee—Zwanzig equation is proposed to describe both low and high frequency dielectric relaxation. It is shown that the inertial effect is closely related to the non-markovian character of the differential equation governing the time evolution of the dipole—dipole autocorrelation function. Comparison with experimental results is given. |
