| Abstract: | N-(2-chloroethyl)-aromatic aldimines were synthesized by condensation of2-chloroethylamine and aromatic aldehydes in the presence of triethylamine andanhydrous magnesium sulphate. Unusual products N-(1-alkoxylethyl)-aldimineswere obtained in the reaction of the N-(2-chloroethyl)-aldimines with sodiumalkoxide in alcohol and the mechanism of the reaction was discussed. |
