| Abstract: | A two-step, one-pot tandem iodocyclization and trifluoromethylation have been developed. A variety of 3-trifluoromethylbenzofurans were prepared in moderate to good yields via the tandem reaction of 2-alkynylanisoles with elemental iodine and (trifluoromethyl)trimethylsilane. |
