| Abstract: | Carboxylic acid serving as both directing and leaving group was discovered in Ru‐catalyzed decarboxylative annulations of α‐keto acids with alkynes. The well‐established protocol showed high functional group tolerance, which provided an efficient and alternative route to the coumarone backbone. |
