Abstract: | In the crystal, the 5Z-carboxymethylene-2-chloro-4,4-dimethoxy-3-N,N-dimethyl-aminocyclopent-2-en-1-one molecule has an intramolecular hydrogen bond (stabilized in the chelate form) between the proton of the carboxy group and the oxygen atom of the keto group. The methoxy groups are in an antiperiplanar conformation and are synclinal with respect to the dimethylamino group and the double bond of the carboxylmethylene fragment.
