Abstract:The object of this expcriment is to obtain a laser source with good beam quality,tunable width of pulse and over GW power for further study of High-order harmonics experiment. Two rods of Nd3 : p-glass with Brewster angle ends setting in one laser cavity and color center crystal, LIF:F or dye (Dye No. 5 and Dye HR1301 ) are used as a passive Q switch. A divergence angle of Q-switching laser is less than 0. 62 mrad, and the tunable range of pulse width is 10-250 us. A few mode-locking spikes are contained in the Q switching envelope. The depth of the mode--locking is nearly 100%.
