Continuum and kinetic approaches to the simulation of the hypersonic flow past a flat plate

Abstract:The data of a mathematical simulation of hypersonic flow past a flat plate at zero incidence obtained on the basis of a numerical solution of the complete Navier-Stokes equations and the Monte Carlo statistical modeling method are compared. The effect of the slip and temperature jump conditions imposed on the body surface is examined for various values of the temperature factor. The behavior of the gasdynamic variables on the body surface and in the flowfield is analyzed. Moscow.
