Abstract:We investigate the effect of kinetic decoupling on the relic density of the non-relativistic particles whose annihilation rate is increased by Sommerfeld enhancement. We discuss the effect of kinetic decoupling both for the Sommerfeld enhanced s-wave annihilation and p-wave anihilation cross sections. We find after kientic decoupling Sommerfeld enhanced annihilations continue to change the particle abundance until the matter domination begins or
the Sommerfeld effect cuts off. We provide analytic estimates of this effect.
Keywords:dark matter  kinetic decoupling  relic density
