| 摘 要： | 六祖慧能和韶州有缘。生在新州,得法黄梅,隐遁怀集和四会,剃度出家在广州,但他最终把韶州作为37年弘法的上佳选择。韶州的曹溪宝林寺(后称南华寺)的兴盛与发展也和慧能紧密地联系在一起。慧能在世之日,宝林道场至少有三次以上的重修、重建和扩建,而且规模一次比一次大。宝林寺的香火也因此一次比一次旺盛。唐朝的韶州曹溪山宝林寺发展和兴盛的历史事实表明,慧能只要一到宝林寺,它立即就会四众云集,宝林道场的修建就势在必行。慧能对宝林道场的重修、重建和扩建,起了直接重要的关键作用。
