Abstract:Cyclization of a series of N-(5-phenyl-2 H-tetrazolc-2-acetyl)-N'-aroylhydrazinc1 under the catalysis of phosphorus oxychloride has been studied. When the N'-substitutinggroups of 1 were 4-IC_6H_4CO, 2-IC_6H_4CO, and 4-CLC_6H_4CO, the cyclization gave only 2,5-bisaryl-1, 3, 4-oxadiazoles 3, while the expected cyclic compounds 2-aryl-5-(5-phenyl-2 H-tetrazole-2-methylene)-1, 3, 4-oxadiazoles 2 was obtained from 1. Preliminary bioassay showed that 2 exhibited a little inhibiting effect on EscherichiaColi and Bacillus Subtilis.
