| Abstract: | A stereoselective total synthesis of xyolide is described employing MacMillan α-hydroxylation, Steglich esterification, and ring closing metathesis as key steps. The use of organocatalytic MacMillan α-hydroxylation to construct two of the chiral centers of the xyolide makes this approach attractive. |
