| Abstract: | A stopped-flow catalytic spectrophotometric method for determining Mn by using a flow injection analyzer has been established. The method is based on the catalytic effect of Mn~(2+)on malachite green-KIO_4 in the presence of nitrilo triacetic acid as an acceterator. A linear range is obtained from 0 to 7. 2ng Mn/ml, and the detection limit of Mn is 0. 07n g/ml. The proposed method has goad selectivity, and has been applied to the determination of Mn river water with satisfactoly results. The relative standard deviation is smaller than 3. 9%. |
