| Abstract: | An efficient approach to construct an enantiomerically pure cyclobutane skeleton by means of the chiral auxiliary induced 2 + 2] photoaddition reactions has been described. This asymmetric photoreaction exhibited high diastereoselectivity and provided the photoadducts in excellent yields. |
