The Temperature Dependence of the Resistivity and Thermopower in Some Polyvalent Liquid Metals

Abstract

Calculations of the temperature dependence of the resistivity and thermopower of liquid indium, cadmium, thallium, lead and mercury are presented. The values of the thermopower are in better agreement with experiment than the results of previous calculations. The success and validity of the Ziman nearly-free-electron theory is discussed in connection with the results for the resistivity.
