Step-like change of the growth rate of primarily nucleated centres in the film formation of camphor

The theoretical time dependence of the surface coverage θ_f is derived for the case of film formation according to two-dimensional instantaneous nucleation and growth with a step-like change in the growth rate. By means of double potential step experiments it is shown that the experimental time dependence of θ_f for the formation of a camphor film can be described by the model considered.
