Self-oscillational motion of a cylinder towed in weak aqueous polymer solution

Abstract:A study is made of the effect of polymer additions on the nonstationary vibrational motion of a cylinder towed in a weak aqueous solution of the polymer and capable of making transverse displacements under the action of the force arising from asymmetry of the periodic detachment of the boundary layer.
