Abstract:In these papers, the developments of high Speed cameras, high speed video technique, holographic interferometry, laser light source and CCD technology on 19th ICHSPP which was held in Cambridge, UK in Sept. 1990.The recent developments in high speed image tubes and cameras published in the 19th International Congress on High Speed Photography and Photonics are introduced and reviewed briefly. It was reported that, on one hand, the temporal resolution of femtosecond streak tube has reached 50 fs theoretically. On the other hand, Framing camera experimentally realized 50 ps exposure time. It is noticed that CCD two dimensional real time readout system has popularly used now in picosecond streak system. Nanosecond framing/ streak cameras, though well developed, have also been improved to get more spatial information and to be programmable. The applications of ultrashort light generation on the dynamic calibration of image converters are concerned.
