Abstract:Carbon supported platinum–ruthenium alloy catalyst prepared by reverse micelles method for was proposed. The particle size and morphology of catalyst were determined by XRD and TEM and found to be homogeneously dispersed on carbon support with narrow particle size distribution. The performance of the Pt–Ru/C catalyst was tested by cyclic voltammogram and galvanostatic polarization experiments in 1 M sulfuric acid with 2 M methanol solution at room temperature and showed a higher catalytic activity when compared with the standard Pt–Ru/C (E-TEK) catalyst.
