Exciton polaritons at surfaces of GaAs |

| Abstract: | The optical reflectance associated with excitons in GaAs is found to be strongly influenced by the repulsive surface potential acting on excitons. This potential explains the anomalous shape of the experimental spectra and is much more important than spatial dispersion in determining the reflectance of GaAs. |
