| Abstract: | Reactions of 3-allyl-4-oxothieno2,3-d]pyrimidin-2-yl disulfides with iodine afforded 2-iodomethyl-2,3-dihydrothieno2,3-d]1,3]thiazolo3,2-a]pyrimidin-5-ones. A probable mechanism of this transformation was theoretically justified.
