On the kinetic theory of energy losses in a randomly heterogeneous medium

The equation describing the distribution of energy losses of a particle propagating in a fractal medium with quenched and dynamic heterogeneities has been derived. It has been shown that in the case of the medium with fractal dimension 2 < D < 3, the losses Δ are characterized by the sublinear anomalous dependence Δ ∼ x ^α with a power-law dependence on the distance x from the surface and exponent α = D − 2.
