Deuteron quadrupole coupling in formaldehyde

Abstract:The hyperfine structure of the 110-111 rotational transition of D2CO has been observed with a beam-maser spectrometer and the spin-rotation and electric quadrupole coupling constants have been determined. Using previously reported measurements on HDCO, the complete electric field gradient tensor at the position of the deuteron has been evaluated.
