| Abstract: | The optical spectra of four-coordinate NiII complexes of quasi-tetrahedral symmetry are discussed in terms of orbital splitting and the bands and band components occurring in the spectra of complexes of types MeX2Y2, MeX3Y or MeXY3 and MeX4 or MeY4 are explained in terms of a departure from the regular tetrahedral symmetry. The method for the calculation of characteristic parameters of the complexes is described. |
