Abstract: | An oscillator-amplifier dye laser pumped by a single giant-pulse ruby laser is described. The system allows production of a tuneable 5 MW, 30 nsec pulse without damaging the intra-cavity echelle which is used to achieve the 0.05 nm linewidth. Higher powers should be obtainable by the addition of another amplifier cell. |
