Analysis on interface damage of fiber reinforced composites under cyclic load

Abstract:Based on the shear-lag model, the interface damage of fiber reinforced composites near a matrix crack under cyclic load is analyzed. The governing equations for load and unload processes are derived and solved. The effective debond stress and the debond velocity are then obtained. Furthermore, the degradation of friction stress on the interface caused by slipping is taken into account. Results are given for the degradation behavior and the steady state of debonding.
