Taking " The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost, an American poet, which is selected into a middle school Chinese textbook, as one example, this paper deals with one aspect on how to focus our teaching on discourse, giving up the traditional splitting teaching method, so as to make our teaching to be in accordance with the requirements of the New Curriculum Standards and thus to promote students' ability of multi-direction thinking.
