Abstract:The features of the mobilities of surface carbon formed by the decomposition of methane on supported transition metals were extensively studied by means of the special temperature programmed desorption (TPD),which is actually the special process of temperature programmed oxidation involved by the surface residual oxygen species. Results indicate that the mobilities of surface carbidic Cα species on various metals found are Pd~Ni>Co>Pt. The order for the mobilities of carbonaceous species(Cβ)on various metals is Pd~Pt~ Ni>Co.
