| Abstract: | 2-Formyl-5-nitrothiophene has high reactivity with respect to phosphoranes, with which it reacts quantitatively to give l-aryl-3-(5-nitro-2-thienyl)propenones. The reaction can be used for the qualitative detection of phosphoranes. |
