| Abstract: | The cyclization of the di(phenylhydrazone) of methyl  -phenyl- , -dioxobutyrate with hydrazines has given phenylhydrazones of methyl indol-2-ylglyoxylates, which have been reduced to methyl -aminoindol-2-ylacetates.
