Abstract: | On the basis of LEED data recorded for sulfur chemisorbed on the (100) surface of tungsten in the 0.5–0.67 coverage range, partially ordered superstructures have been calculated within the kinematic approximation. They reveal c(2 × 2) domains separated by antiphase boundaries with point defects. The superstructures are modelled with statistical occupancies of the adsorption sites. Various possibilities for the registry of the adiayer in this coverage range are discussed. |
