Research and Theory in Internal Friction of Alloying of Rare Earth in Iron and Steel

he concept of alloying was clarified after looking briefly back to the developing course of study on the alloying of rare earth in steel. The concept of alloying internal friction and the basic principle of studing alloying with the method of internal friction was advanced. The spectrum and mechanisms of internal friction in iron were discussed. The progress of study on the alloying of rare earth in steel by internal friction was introduced. Finally, based on the actions of rare earth in steel and on the dvelopment course of engineering materials, the problem of steel development by use of rare earth was discussed.
