| Abstract: | In this paper, we determine the number of the orbits of 7‐subsets of  with a fixed orbit length under the action of PSL(2, 2n). As a consequence, we determine the distribution of λ for which there exists a simple 3‐(2n + 1, 7, λ) design with PSL(2, 2n) as an automorphism group. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
