Infrared absorption of chromium trioxide and its suboxides |

| Abstract: | The chromium oxides, obtained by the thermal decomposition of chromium trioxide, presented a bewildering array of possible mixed valency compounds. The IR absorption measurements in the range 400–5000 cm?1 revealed the presence of the valencies +6, +5, +4, +3 in the samples between CrO3 and Cr2O3. |
