| Abstract: | Solvolysis and acid catalysed isomerisation of spiro2.3]hexyl derivatives are versatile synthetic routes to 2-(Δ1-cyclobutenyl)ethyl alcohols and methylenecyclopentanols. The course of the reactions is discussed. |
