On a representation of the solution of the linear elasticity equations

A new representation of the stress tensor in the linear theory of elasticity is proposed. The representation satisfies the equilibrium equations and the compatibility conditions for strains. In this representation, the stress tensor is expressed in terms of a harmonic vector.
