| Abstract: | [reaction: see text] A formal enantioselective synthesis of allocolchicine and a synthesis of a C-ring analogue have been achieved by employing an intramolecular direct arylation of an aryl chloride to form the biaryl carbon-carbon bond and the seven-membered ring. |
