| Abstract: | Using static and ultrasonic methods, absolute values of the strain-optical coefficients, p11, p12 and p44 are determined for RbCl, RbBr and RbI in the wavelength region 240–410 nm. Following the band-structure approach, deformation potential constants of the valence band at K = 0 are evaluated for RbBr and RbI. |
