| Abstract: | Selenophosphonates of the general formula (EtO)2P(O)CHRSePh were prepared and their reactions with aldehydes and ketones investigated. The products formed are vinylic selenides having predominantly the E configuration. Hydrolytic cleavage of these products gives the corresponding ketones. |
