| Abstract: | The results of the determination of oxygen in materials with a high content of sulphur by the method of inert gas fusion may be erroneous because of the production of CS2. Contrary to earlier investigations, the effect is found not to occur in the case of high sulphur steel (0.22% S) if an impulse-furnace instrument is used. However, when sulphide materials are analysed the interference appears even with very small samples. |
