Abstract: | Phonons in AgBr are studied by neutron inelastic scattering along the [111] direction of reciprocal lattice. From the phonon dispersion and the optical data, it is concluded that the valence band maximum is at the L-point and the phonons participating in the indirect band-gap transition are identified as TO(L) and LA(L). |
