Abstract: | A three-band model tight binding Greens function formalism is used to calculate the electronic structure of the (100) surface of tungsten in the vicinity of the Fermi level. The results exhibit a large surface resonance, which provides an explanation for a surface-sensitive peak observed in recent field- and photoemission experiments. |
