| Abstract: | We derive and evaluate a pertubative expression for the friction parameter of a Brownian motion formalism. Our model system consists of a single massive ion near the surface of an electron gas. The relation of this friction parameter to recently calculated dynamical corrections to the image potential is clarified. |
