| Abstract: | Precision X-ray studies of the temperature dependence for the CH4 lattice parameter were carried out in the 14–23°K range. Samples of equilibrium spin-modification composition reveals a volume jump of about 0.12 percent at 18 ± 0.1°K. This phase transition has been found to be essentially affected by inter-modification conversion. |
