Abstract: | Phase field investigation reveals that the stability ofthe planar interface is related to the anisotropic intensity ofsurface tension and the misorientation of preferred crystallographicorientation with respect to the heat flow direction. The largeanisotropic intensity may compete to determine the stability of theplanar interface. The destabilizing effect or the stabilizing effectdepends on the misorientation. Moreover, the interface morphology ofinitial instability is also affected by the surface tensionanisotropy. |
