| Abstract: | Analytical solutions of electromagnetic fields in the step index chiral fiber which both the core and the cladding are chiral media have been presented. The modal characteristic equation is derived. The expressions of electromagnetic field components, intensities and powers of guided modes in the chiral fiber are given. Effects of chirality on guided modes in the chiral fiber are investigated. |
