Flow-injection amplification for the spectrophotometric determination of iodide

A flow manifold is described in which iodide (0.05–15 μg ml^?1) in a 50-μl sample is oxidized by bromine water to iodate, most of the excess of bromine is reduced by formic acid, and the iodate is reacted with more iodide to form triiodide, which is determined spectrophotometrically.
