| Abstract: | 2-( -Acetamidobenzil)sulfazone and 2-benzalsulfazone were obtained by reacting 3-ketothiamorpholine dioxide (sulfazone) with benzylidenebisacetamide in boiling acetic acid. The double bond in 2-benzalsulfazone can add alcohols (methanol, ethanol) to give correspondingly 2-(-methoxybenzil)- and 2-(-ethoxybenzil) sulfazone. Reaction of sulfazone with benzylidenebisurea in boiling acetic acid gave 2-(-ureidobenzyl)sulfazone. |
