An example in potential scattering illustrating the breakdown of asymptotic completeness

Abstract:An example is given of a local spherically symmetric short range potential, such that the wave operators for scattering of a single particle by the potential are not complete. States exist which are asymptotically free att=?∞, but having a non zero probability of absorption into the origin att=+∞.
