The kinetic energy of fission fragments

The Coulomb energy is calculated for the nucleus in the process of fission (in the general case asymmetrical) into two spherical fragments and for ellipsoidal deformations. In the first case the calculation has been done on an M-20 electronic computer. Conclusions are drawn on the form of the nucleus in symmetrical fission at the moment of fragmentation and its effect on the kinetic energy of the fragments.We wish to express our thanks to Yu.
